Wayne State has something for everyone. Climb our 30-foot-high climbing wall in the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center, cheer the Warrior athletes or attend an on-campus concert, play, dance recital or art exhibit. Nearly 200 recognized student organizations sponsor everything from ethnic celebrations to political debates
One of Wayne State University's goals is to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with our community as a catalyst for the region's social, cultural, economic and educational enrichment.

- September 10 2008 at 3:00 PMUndergraduate LibraryA panel discussion highlighting the differences and similarities between Mexicans and Chicanos (Mexican Americans) will be presented in connection with the university's FOCIS lecture featuring Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico.Many Americans believe that Mexicans and Chicanos think and act alike, but this discussion will show how their evolving cultural identities, distinct historical experiences and particular contributions to the global economy have helped shape relations between the two countries.
- Naming Ceremony for the Leon H. Atchison Residence Hall
- September 10 2008 at 3:00 PMSouth Hall - outside ceremonyProgram and reception in honor of Leon H. Atchison and the renaming of South Hall in his honor. There will be a program on the front steps of the residence hall on the Anthony Wayne side of the building (weather permitting) with a reception in the living room and courtyard area of the dorm. The ceremony and reception will move inside in case of inclimate weather. The Atchison familiy will be in attendence for this great event
