How To Enroll
Please note that because of the contracts Wayne State University has with the medical insurance carriers, the Total Compensation and Wellness Department must strictly administer enrollment and termination limits.

Cost
The university provides a considerable subsidy toward employee and dependent premiums. Click here for Medical Rate Schedules
If you are covered by other health insurance, you may choose to receive cash-in-lieu of coverage.
Coverage
Coverage for new hires begins on the first of the month following or concurrent with your date of hire assuming all completed forms are received by Total Compensation and Wellness within 30 days of your hire date. Our annual Open Enrollment period (the annual opportunity to revise coverage) for the medical plans is in the fall with the new coverage beginning January 1 of the following year.
University retirees may continue their medical insurance in the WSU group plan. Retiree medical insurance is not a subsidized benefit.
