Phase I: Performance Planning

Performance Planning is how each employee contributes to the WSU Strategic Plan. It enforces the direct alignment between the university’s mission and individual objectives, by clearly defining each employee’s objectives before the performance year begins.

Employees must include 4 to 6 performance objectives for Part A:  Performance Objective Plan & Assessment of the Employee Planning, Assessment & Development Form. All employees’ must also include 2 to 3 separate objectives for Part C:  Employee Development Plan (EDP & Assessment.  Supervisors  and employees need to discuss the objectives and assign appropriate weights to all performance and developmental objectives, in order of importance to the function and/or the university.  The performance objectives will be 75% of the overall rating and the development objectives on the EDP will be 25% of the overall rating.
