Question: I have a general question about Service Recognition. Who do I contact?

Question: I have been here for at least 10 years and have never received a service award. Who can I contact about this?

Answer: Please e-mail your inquiry to r.duckworth@wayne.edu

Question: I was a temporary employee (formerly known as technician) before I became a regular full-time employee. Is that time counted towards my total years of service?

Answer:  No, unfortunately temporary employment time cannot be counted toward your years of service.

Question: I was a student assistant/instructional assistant/graduate-graduate research assistant/part-time faculty before I became a regular full-time employee. Is that time counted towards my total years of service?

Answer:  No, unfortunately the time cannot be counted toward your years of service.

Question: I have taken a leave (or other time off) during my time at the university. How does that affect my years of service?

Answer: Leaves of Absence such as sabbaticals, personal leaves, maternity and child care leaves, military leaves, paid and unpaid illness leaves, administrative leaves, and layoffs are counted in an employees service. Regular illness, vacation time, any purpose time, and other regular paid days off do not affect your years of service.

Question: I worked at the university years ago and recently returned. Will that time I spent at the university previously be counted towards my years of service?

Answer: If you returned to the university and your previous assignment was benefit eligible, that service will be counted.

Question: I was already recognized as a retiree and decided not to retire. Will I be recognized again at the service recognition event?

Answer: If you withdrew or postponed your retirement after the ceremony date but were recognized as a retiree, we are unable to recognize you again in a subsequent year.

Question: I am considering retiring in the next year. What do I need to do to be recognized as a retiree?

Answer: Please contact the Total Compensation & Wellness Department to officially notify them of your retirement plans in writing.

Question: I received my brochure and the gift ordering deadline has passed. May I still order my gift?

Answer: No, unfortunately orders cannot be placed after June 29, 2013.

Question: I placed an order for my service or retiree award, but I have not received it. How can I check the status of my order?

Answer: Please e-mail your inquiry to r.duckworth@wayne.edu so that we may investigate your order status with the recognition company.

Question: The service or retiree award I ordered was defective. What should I do?

Answer: Please e-mail your inquiry to r.duckworth@wayne.edu so that we may investigate your order status with the recognition company.

Question: I received an email from D&E Enterprises notifying me that I should receive an award and must click on a link provided to obtain my gift.  Is this a legitimate email?

Answer: Yes, this email is legitimate.  In addition to the email, you will receive a letter in the mail with the ordering instructions.

Question: How do I order my gift?
